1. Choose the locking path
Answer from the physical closure rather than the product appearance. A pull-tight strap or cable must pass through the actual closure point before entering its lock. A fixed-length seal closes at a defined position and should not be shown as continuously adjustable.
Does the seal need an adjustable loop?
Is the closure a container or trailer hasp?
Does a flexible steel cable need to pass through the closure?
Is the closure a meter inspection point with sealing wire?
2. Measure before choosing a model
Record the smallest opening, the complete path through the closure and the clearance available for the locking body. Total product length is not always the usable loop length. For cable and meter seals, state wire or cable diameter and length separately.
3. Prepare a quotation that can be checked
Closure
Photo or drawing, smallest opening, full threading path and clearance around the locked body.
Dimensions
Effective working length, strap width, shackle size, pin diameter or cable/wire diameter as applicable.
Installation
Pull-tight, fixed-length, insert-lock, twist or push-button method; state any required tool.
Removal
Hand removal or approved cutting tool, plus the access available after installation.
Identification
Logo artwork, serial-number range, prefix, barcode type, encoded data and preferred colour.
Order
Quantity, delivery country, packing needs, sample review and model-specific document requirements.
4. Keep claims model-specific
If a project requires a tested classification, report or other document, request evidence for the exact model and specification. A category name, cable diameter or document for another model does not establish the status of the product being quoted.
